Beware of LinkedIn Phishing

Received an email from a client today – someone tried to phish their LinkedIn account.  Here is what happened:

  1. sent to email address that they don’t typically use for LinkedIn (but could happen to any email address)
  2. looked very similar to the LinkedIn request that they typically receive

So if you click on the link in the email you end up giving them your LinkedIn username and password.

RECOMMENDATION:  Any requests from LinkedIn – go directly to the website and don’t click through via the email request.
